Microfluidic Devices

FOI (fiber optic interrogated) microfluidic devices incorporate an analysis zone optically interrogated by thousands of minute optical fibers–enabling real time monitoring of fluorescence- or luminescence-based reactions, cell counting, or spectroscopic type analysis. These devices are custom-patterned on a fiber optic substrate designed to enhance optical resolution and increase the signal-to-noise ratio for bottom-reading applications. FOI microfluidic devices are well-suited for CCD counting applications or monitoring with inverted microscopy.
