Press Releases
INCOM submitted a Microcapillary Array Plate product announcement to the editorial staff of the Photonics Group. The editors selected the press release for publication in the July 2008 issue of Biophotonics International. INCOM is pleased to have been chosen--only a few of the product announcements submitted are accepted for publication.
Technical Papers
INCOM's paper on Direct Contact Imaging explains the advantages of fiberoptics when used for detection and readout of the optical signals from microarrays. Fiberoptic plates use fused optical fibers to transfer images coherently from the microarray to the sensor, which significantly enhances system performance in certain direct contact imaging applications.
This paper, "Direct Contact Fiberoptic Plates for the Detection of Luminescent Cells" by Drs. David W. Stowe and Michael J. Minot, also reviews applications of microarrays, discusses performance criteria and limitations of fiberoptic plates used for direct contact detection, and calculates the signal-to-noise advantage. The paper also gives suggestions for advances in components and instrumentation.
